Nationlal Pay Commission Sri Lanka has appointed the ECSL Chairman as a member of the expert committee for formulation of a new national wage policy on technical area. The first meeting was held on 16th January 2023 at the office of National Pay Commission.
Chairman attended INCO Industrtial Exhibition as a Guest of Honor at BMICH on 14th January 2023. The Chief Guest of the function was the Minister of Higher Education, Hon. Susil Premajayantha and other Guest of Honor was the Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Mr. Nihal Ranasinghe. This function is organized by IIESL.
The second meeting with a Council member of IAESL was held on 12th January 2023 to discuss the progress of registration of their members in ECSL. Also discussed the quality improvements of Automobile Technicians and garages. A programme will be launched with all stakeholders including the Department of Motor Traffic (RMV).
A meeting was held with the President and a deligation of IIESL members to discuss the registration related issues.
ECSL Chairman empharsized the requirement to experdite the process of awarding Incorporated membership and also consider appropriate path for experienced IIESL members and experienced engineers already working in the public sector who are not IIESL members. IIESL President Mrs. Pushpa Jinadasa stated that this matter will be discussed at the IIESL Council and take neccessary actions.
A meeting was held on 27 December 2022 between ECSL and PUCSL to prepare a long term plan to enhance the quality of Electricians and Plumbers. Also prepare a plan to train Solar technicians.
A preliminary discussion was held on 22 December 2022 by ECSL Chairman with a delegation of IESL Electrical Sectional Committee to work on socio-economic development of the Country.

ECSL suggestions for economic development of the country was submitted to Hon. Prime Minister on 4th June 2022.
Meeting with Director General Consular Affairs Division of Foreign Ministry was held on 20th December 2021 to reengineer the authentication process of ECSL issued registration certificate.
Interview of Inaugural First Set of Engineering Technicians in the Irrigation Department was held on 17th December The Irrigation Department started the registration of Engineering Technicians. The first set of NVQ 4 qualified Engineering Technicians were interviewed on 17th December 2021.
